The Firm’s clientele includes listed and unlisted
corporations, investment banking and broking houses, securities
market operators, CEOs and other senior executives, and other business
people and professionals who require specialised corporate, securities
and commercial expertise.
The practice undertakes substantial transactional matters including
takeovers, mergers, and company and business sales and acquisitions
(with a transaction value up to hundreds of millions of dollars),
and also accepts instructions in specialist advisory work. (In the
case of instructions which involve significant litigation or which
are potentially litigious, separate and special arrangements appropriate
to such matters will apply.)
It may also be of advantage for a client or its advisers to have,
at appropriate times, an independent, external service. For example,
directors or boards may require separate representation in matters
affecting their personal interests or involving conflicts of interests.
In this area, the Firm frequently accepts referrals from other legal
and professional firms.
Keynotes of the Firm’s practice style are partner-level involvement
at all times, efficient work production, responsiveness and accessibility.
We aim to be the trusted adviser
of each of our clients, and this is a valued privilege.
We strive to earn this trust by applying our wide expertise and
long experience in the practice of corporate and commercial law
to:
- understanding the client’s needs and objectives; and
- carefully analysing the problems and issues,
so as to arrive at outcomes which are at once legally sound, practical,
and attuned to those objectives. In short, we will answer the question:
“What would you do if you were the client?”
