John O’Halloran
is a graduate of Sydney University with degrees in Arts and Laws.
He has been in legal practice since 1976, initially in Sydney, and
subsequently with the leading New York commercial firm of Chadbourne
& Parke. John joined the firm now known as Blake Dawson in 1979,
becoming a partner in July 1985, and remaining a partner until his
retirement from that firm in late 1997. In the two years following,
he held three full-time in-house contract appointments in the financial
services industry (with Commonwealth Bank of Australia, MLC Investments
and Deutsche Asset Management). John commenced the practice O’Hallorans
in 2000. He has been actively involved in the process of change
and reform in the corporations and securities law fields, principally
through his membership of the Law Council of Australia Corporations

Michael Pieterse has been
Special Counsel with the Firm since 2005. Michael is a graduate
of Sydney University with degrees in Arts and Laws and has been
in legal practice since 1976. Michael was a Senior Partner of his
own litigation firm from 1985-2003 and specialises in commercial
